Burano
ブラーノ（Burano）は、イタリア北東部ヴェネツィアの潟にある島で、コムーネとしてはヴェネツィアの一部となっている。4つの小島で構成される群島で、それぞれの島は橋で行き来できるようになっている。
Burano
Burano is a small island in the northern Venetian Lagoon, close to Torcello. It's known for two things: a centuries-old lace-making tradition and rows of houses painted in bright, contrasting colours along the canals. Most visitors come to walk the waterfront streets, see the lace on display in shops and small workshops, and photograph the coloured facades.
Getting there
From central Venice, the island is reached by vaporetto (public water bus), typically line 12 from Fondamente Nove. The crossing takes roughly 40 to 45 minutes.
How long to spend
Burano is compact, and most people find that two to three hours is enough to walk the main streets, cross a few bridges, and browse the shops.
When to go
Burano gets crowded in the late morning and early afternoon, when day-trip groups from Venice arrive. Visiting earlier in the day or later in the afternoon generally means quieter streets and better light for photos.
Combine with
- Sant'Erasmo (3.5km) – the closest of the nearby islands, largely agricultural and far less touristy.
- Murano (5.9km) – known for glassmaking, often paired with Burano on the same vaporetto route.
- San Michele (7km) – Venice's cemetery island.
- San Pietro di Castello (7.2km) – a quieter corner of Venice itself, worth combining if returning via the Castello district.
