Teatro La Fenice
フェニーチェ劇場 は、イタリア・ヴェネツィアにある歌劇場である。日本語でもしばしば「ラ・フェニーチェ」（-座、あるいは-劇場）と表記される。
What it is
La Fenice is Venice's opera house, rebuilt more than once after fires but still operating on the same site in the city centre. It's known for hosting operatic premieres in the 19th century, including works by Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti and Verdi. Travellers visit either to attend a performance or to see the auditorium and interiors on a daytime visit, which typically includes an audio guide covering the theatre's history and reconstructions.
Getting there
The theatre sits in a small campo just off the main route between Piazza San Marco and the Rialto area, so it's reached entirely on foot. From Piazza San Marco it's about a 5-minute walk through the surrounding streets. Coming from Venezia Marco Polo Airport (VCE), take the airport bus or water bus into the city centre first, then walk the last stretch — there's no direct water transport link to the theatre itself.
Time to allow
A self-guided visit to see the auditorium, boxes and foyer generally takes around 45 minutes to an hour. If you're attending an opera or concert, plan for the length of the performance plus time beforehand to find your seats.
When to go
Daytime visits can get busy around midday when tour groups pass through, so arriving earlier in the day tends to mean a quieter experience. If you're going for a performance, evening events draw larger crowds around the entrance beforehand, so it's worth arriving with some buffer time.
What to combine it with
The theatre is close to several major sights, making it easy to build into a walking route through central Venice. Museo Correr and Piazza San Marco are both about 0.3km away, while Santa Maria della Salute and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection are roughly 0.4km away, on the other side of the Grand Canal.
