Overview

Blåmanen is one of the seven mountains surrounding Bergen, standing 551 meters tall. Located east of Mount Fløyen, the peak is barely visible from downtown. Hikers head here for a quieter walking route and open views of the city and surrounding landscapes.

Getting There

From central Bergen, access the trails by heading up toward Mount Fløyen. From the Fløyen plateau, follow the marked trails leading east. The uphill walk from the city centre to the summit takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours.

Time to Allow

Plan for 3 to 4 hours for the entire round trip on foot, allowing 20 to 30 minutes at the top to rest and take in the surroundings.

When to Visit

The trail is best visited from late spring to autumn when paths are generally free of ice and snow. The summit rarely gets crowded, but rain can make the ground wet and slippery.
