KV21: Ancient Egyptian Tomb

KV21 is an ancient Egyptian tomb located in the Valley of the Kings. It is primarily known as the resting place of two women from the 18th Dynasty, believed to be queens. Visitors go here to see the archaeological site where DNA analysis later suggested a familial link to Tutankhamun.

Getting There

The tomb is located on the West Bank of Luxor. From the city centre, you must cross the Nile via ferry or bridge and take a taxi or shuttle to the Valley of the Kings entrance. The journey typically takes 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and the crossing method.

When to Visit

The site is outdoors and exposed to the sun, so early morning is the most practical time to visit to avoid peak heat. The cooler winter months are the standard season for tourism in Luxor. This area of the valley can become crowded during peak tourist seasons.
