KV32: Tomb of Queen Tiaa

KV32 is an ancient Egyptian tomb located in the Valley of the Kings. It served as the burial place for Tiaa, the wife of Pharaoh Amenhotep II and mother of Thutmose IV. Visitors go here to see the architectural layout and remaining traces of a royal family burial site from the New Kingdom period.

Getting There

The tomb is located on the West Bank of the Nile, opposite Luxor city centre. To reach the site, travellers typically take a ferry or bridge to the West Bank and then use a taxi or hired vehicle to reach the Valley of the Kings entrance. The journey from the city centre generally takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic and transport mode.

Visit Duration

Allow approximately 30 to 60 minutes to explore the interior of the tomb and observe the structural details.

Timing and Crowds

The site is exposed to direct sunlight, so visiting in the early morning is advisable to avoid peak heat. The winter months are the most temperate season for visiting. While this specific tomb may be less crowded than the major royal burials, the surrounding valley area attracts large tour groups throughout the day.
