This archaeological site contains the remains of a temple complex from the Dilmun civilization. Excavations have revealed layers of shrines dating back to 3000 BCE, constructed using limestone from Jidda Island. Visitors go here to view the ancient foundations and understand the early religious architecture of the region.
Getting There
The site is located on the outskirts of Manama. From the city centre, the most practical way to reach the temple is by taxi or rental car. The drive typically takes about 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Visit Duration
Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to walk through the ruins and read the informational signage provided on-site.
When to Visit
Due to the open-air nature of the ruins and the local climate, visiting during the early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid peak heat. The cooler months from November to March are the most suitable for outdoor exploration. The site generally does not experience the heavy crowds found at major city landmarks.
