Karmir Blur
Karmir Blur, meaning "Red Hill," is the archaeological site of Teishebaini, a former provincial capital of the Urartian kingdom. Visitors go here to see the remains of ancient walls and storerooms preserved on a reddish earthen mound, which provides a physical sense of the scale and layout of this ancient city.
Getting There
The site is located on the outskirts of Yerevan. From the city centre, it is most accessible via taxi or ride-sharing services. The journey typically takes about 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Duration of Visit
Allow approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to walk through the ruins and view the onsite exhibits. This provides enough time to explore the mound and understand the architectural remains of the Urartian settlement.
