Queen Sirikit Park
シリキット女王公園 は、タイのバンコク・チャトゥチャック区にある植物園。面積は0.22 km²で、チャトゥチャック公園の一画にある。1992年にシリキット王妃の60歳の誕生日を記念して建てられた。蓮の花が咲いている多くの噴水がある。
Overview
Queen Sirikit Park is a botanical garden inside the larger Chatuchak Park green space in northern Bangkok. It's named after Queen Sirikit and centres on fountains, ponds and lotus displays rather than rides or attractions. The appeal is the plant collections — bananas, palms, hibiscus, water lilies and lotus among them — plus a fair number of butterflies, making it a spot for a slow walk rather than a full day out. It's a quieter, more cultivated counterpart to the adjoining Chatuchak Park.
Getting there
From central Bangkok, the BTS Skytrain to Mo Chit station or the MRT to Chatuchak Park station both put you within a short walk of the park entrance. Depending on where in the city centre you start (Siam, Sukhumvit, or the riverside), the trip typically takes 25–45 minutes by train.
Time to allow
An hour to ninety minutes is enough to walk the paths, see the ponds and fountains, and take in the plant collections without rushing.
Best time to visit
Early morning is more comfortable given Bangkok's heat and humidity, and lotus flowers tend to be more open earlier in the day. Weekends can bring more visitors, partly overlap with crowds heading to the nearby weekend market, so a weekday visit is calmer if your schedule allows.
Combine with
Chatuchak Park itself is right next door (0.6km) and easy to fold into the same visit for a longer green-space walk. Chatuchak Weekend Market (0.7km) is an easy add-on if you're visiting on a Saturday or Sunday, when the market operates. Both the Elephant Building (2.9km) and Rama VI Bridge (3.8km) are further out and better suited to a separate trip.
