The closest resort-style cluster to downtown, built around Fukuoka Tower and the man-made beach. Reachable via the Kūkō (Airport) subway line to Tojinmachi or Nishijin, then a short bus or taxi ride, so Hakata and Tenjin stay 15-20 minutes away. Properties here lean toward sea-facing rooms and shared pools rather than private villas, and suit travelers who want resort amenities without giving up subway access.
Itoshima coast
West of the city, known for cafes, surf beaches, and standalone villas with private pools. Not on the subway network; access is by the JR Chikuhi Line to a local station plus taxi, or by car. This area fits travelers prioritizing privacy and a genuine villa layout over proximity to sightseeing.
Nokonoshima and island stays
Reached by ferry from Meinohama, with a slower pace and seasonal resort facilities. Best for a one- or two-night detour rather than a full-trip base, since ferry schedules limit late-night flexibility.

Hakata Bay
Hakata Bay is a bay in the northwestern part of Fukuoka city, on the Japanese island of Kyūshū. It faces the Tsushima Strait, and features beaches and a port, though parts of the bay have been reclaimed in the expansion of the city of Fukuoka. The bay is near the site of the Mongol invasions of Japan of 1274 and 1281; both invasions are sometimes referred to as the "Battle of Hakata Bay."

Fukuoka Mosque
The Fukuoka Mosque, officially the Fukuoka Masjid Al Nour Islamic Culture Center, is a mosque located in Hakozaki, Higashi-ku, in the city of Fukuoka, in the Fukuoka Prefecture of Japan. Opened on 12 April 2009, it was the first mosque on the island of Kyūshū. Fukuoka Mosque serves the approximately 1,000 Muslims in the prefecture.

Fukuoka Art Museum is an art museum in Fukuoka, Japan. It contains a notable collection of Western and Asian art, and exhibits various temporary exhibitions. In November 2010 it hosted a large exhibition of Marc Chagall's work.

Shōfuku-ji Temple
Shōfuku-ji (聖福寺) is a Buddhist temple located in the Gokushōmachi neighborhood of Hakata, Fukuoka, Japan. It belongs to the Rinzai school Myōshin-ji-branch of Japanese Zen. Its sangō prefix is Ankokuzan (安国山). It was founded by Eisai with support from Minamoto no Yoritomo, and is the oldest Zen temple in Japan. Its precincts were designated a National Historic Site in 1969.
