Overview

Misina is a 535-meter peak in the Mecsek Mountains above Pécs. The summit is home to the Pécs TV Tower, Hungary's tallest structure, as well as a modest ski slope and walking trails. Travelers visit for scenic viewpoints over the city, outdoor walks, and winter skiing.

Getting There

From the city centre, local buses reach the summit in approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Driving or taking a taxi takes about 15 minutes along the paved hillside roads. Hiking uphill directly from town takes around 1 to 1.5 hours.

Time to Spend

Allow 1 to 2 hours to explore the summit and view the surrounding area. Extend your stay to half a day if you plan to hike the surrounding trails or ski during snowy periods.

When to Visit

Visit on clear days for optimal visibility over Pécs. Spring and autumn offer comfortable temperatures for trail walking, while winter draws skiers after fresh snowfall. The area gets crowded on sunny weekends; weekday mornings are much quieter.
