Overview

Beidha is an excavated Neolithic archaeological site situated north of Petra, included within the Petra World Heritage area. It provides concrete evidence of the early human transition from nomadic hunting to settled agricultural communities. Visitors can view exposed stone foundations from prehistoric round houses, communal areas, and later rectangular buildings.

Getting There

The site is located roughly 10 to 15 minutes north of central Wadi Musa by taxi or rental car, directly along the road toward Little Petra.

Time to Allow

Plan to spend 30 to 45 minutes walking through the uncovered foundations and reading the on-site information panels.

When to Visit

Because the area is open with minimal shade, early morning or late afternoon visits are best to avoid peak sun and heat. Spring and autumn provide the most moderate weather for exploring outdoors. The site receives low visitor traffic and rarely gets crowded.
