Triq il-Wiesgħa Tower

The Triq il-Wiesgħa Tower is a 17th-century coastal watchtower located in Malta. It is one of the 13 De Redin towers originally constructed for coastal defense. Visitors go here to see a restored example of military architecture from the period of the Order of St. John.

Getting There

The tower is located on the outskirts of the Valletta area. From the city centre, it is accessible via local bus or taxi. The journey typically takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Visit Duration

Because of its small size as a single watchtower, most visitors spend between 30 and 60 minutes at the site to observe the exterior and the restored structure.

When to Visit

The site is outdoors, so visiting during the spring or autumn is advisable to avoid the peak summer heat. Early morning or late afternoon provides softer light for viewing the stone masonry. It does not typically experience the same level of crowding as the main city squares of Valletta.
