Seminyak: a middle ground for older kids

Roughly 20-30 minutes from the airport, mixing beach clubs, restaurants, and shops within walking distance of many stays. Surf and currents are stronger here, so check a property pool setup if children are young. Suits families with teens who want some independence and food variety.

Ubud: for families prioritizing culture over beach

Inland, generally 60-90 minutes from the airport, with no direct beach access. Good for families drawn to rice terraces, art villages, and slower mornings, but expect uneven walking paths and less English signage than the coast. Confirm road access if traveling with a stroller.
